Short time ago, the manufacturing of the converter platform „DolWin gamma“ began, where Schaaf products are essential. Meanwhile, this is the fourth platform of this kind. It truly proves the quality of the products and the customer’s trust in SCHAAF.

Beginning Autumn 2017, the end customer TenneT is going to convert 900 MW energy from alternating current into direct current in the southwest North Sea and will transport it via sea and land cables to 162 km far away converter station Dörpen West. Here, the electricity will be converted back and will supply the German high-voltage grid.

The carrying jacket construction is anchored in 30 m depth under water, while the topside is approx. 20 m above water surface due to hydraulic jack-up technology and is fixed with 60 bolts by SCHAAF from Erkelenz for the next decades. Thus, after BorWin, HelWin and SylWin, this is already the fourth platform in the North Sea, which is equipped and secured with patented SCHAAF technology.
