SCHAAF MSN for 6-level storage pump
In April 2016, SCHAAF received the order from Andritz AG in Graz, to deliver several Multiple Stud Nuts and ExpaTen bolts for the machinery use Oschenik 1 in the power plant Innerfragant in Carinthia, Austria. The 6-level storage pump has a performance of 30 MW and conveys 3.32 m³ water per second over an altitude difference of 1,000 metres into the storage lake Oschenik.
The degree of efficiency is increased from nearly 85 % to 90 % compared with the old pump. The components of the storage pump is designed for 10 starts per day over a life expectancy of 75 years. The entry pressure of the water is 27 bar, the outlet pressure is 120 bar. Levels 4 to 6 were loaded during testing with 225 bar.
The body housing is the first horizontally divided pump body housing in these dimensions and results in faster and easier assembly.
Due to intensive co-operation with leading hydropower plant manufacturers, SCHAAF is able to contribute to realisation and further development of plants for generation of renewable energy.
