In August 2017 several shipyard requested SCHAAF to supervise and carry out the assembly of GripLoc systems on the shaft trains of multiple ships. Within four weeks 20 different GripLoc couplings were successfully tensioned.

The shaft diameters, that were connected by the SCHAAF GripLoc couplings, all lie between 260 mm and 610 mm. Besides the couplings themselves, SCHAAF also delivers any components needed for assembly, such as: hydraulic nuts, pumps, hoses and mounting accessories.

The installation in different shipyards located all across the world was successfully accompanied and implemented by SCHAAF-Service employees. Due to the internationality of SCHAAF-Service employees, it was possible to communicate in the shipyard workers’ native language.
